Spooled Up Strange World

There are two things I love about music: 1. Alternative rock from the 90s, and 2. single-word song titles. Spooled up gave us both. The angst and overdriven rock is unforgiving and powerful and amazing. This record brings back memories of Superchunk, Letters To Cleo, Velocity Girl and Sebadoh. It’s also fabulous to hear a band with distorted guitars and loud drums – not to mention they write catchy songs you want to sing along to – and killer production from Sean Mercer and Robbie Liberati.
