So I came across PLRLS a few years ago opening for a friend’s band. I saw them perform once and I was sold. Hook, line and sinker. There’s something completely mesmerizing about them. They are simple and complicated. Angular and round. And at the same time, completely catchy and accessible with a slight punk odor. When I saw them a second time, I was able to digest more and decided they were a combination of The B-52s, The Pixies, Devo and Richard Wagner.
PLRLS joins us in the studio for a Microshow (March 25, 2015).
When they agreed to record a microshow here at the studio, I was enthralled. Their show was amazing. And even after Jim broke a rib in a fight with his car they still completely killed it. Michael was on fire. Elena is my new favorite bassist. Rachel Anne Warren is a force to be reckoned with. Sean has the fastest hands. And Jim, well he’s amazing for being able to yield such a good performance even with a broken bone, not to mention his choice woredrobe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite Baltimore bands and will be yours soon enough. Get their records here.
