Pellars Microshow

Pellars is a murky brew of haunting and seductive keyboard melodies, bright, driving bass lines, and passionate tales of warning and wonder belted over minimal electronic percussion. Based out of Baltimore, they perform dark, melodically driven songs that draw from the deep wells of 60’s psych, 70’s doom, 80’s post punk, 90’s pop, and numerous occult texts.

Pellars joins us in the studio for a Microshow (February 10, 2016).

The band comprises Nick Hope on vocals and drum machines, Joseph Wekes on keyboard, and Gunnar Isbert on bass guitar. Joseph’s past includes multiple years of voice and piano studio within the classics genre, and a lifelong love of pop, punk, and death rock. Gunnar is from Baltimore and has played in bands since his teens, ranging from punk to psych rock. He is currently playing bass for the band Ratboiler as well. Nick Hope is a Baltimore native who learned music from elementary school choirs, high school pop bands, and other electronic and experimental projects. He also plays synth for the group, Quitter. Pellars have been playing together since Spring 2015, and have a demo available at

Pellars hasn’t been around a long time, but you’d never know it with the stage presence of singer Nick Hope. He captivates the audience and draws them in one by one. And he’s cultivated a stellar band with incredible musicianship of bassist Gunnar and keys player Joseph.

There will be a lot of hear of this band in the very near future.
