Minimus The Poet Trust Me

The almost impossible-to-pigeonhole (but tends to lean towards indie/folk/pop/experimental/theremin-crazy) Minimus The Poet came by the studio this past spring to work on a single, “Trust Me”. While I hate to admit it, the band first caught my eye (or ear) after watching them perform a cover of This Must Be The Place by The Talking Heads. After that I started paying attention and instantly got it.

That said, Aaron the primary songwriter, crafted a wonderfully dense yet selectively detailed and punctuated pop song. This marks the first time his singing partner Deirdre McAllister can be heard on a record. Their voices, while rather contrasting, seem to fit together perfectly and effortlessly.

After the song was cut they put together a video at a warehouse space down the street from the studio. It turned out great. Enjoy the video. And be on the lookout for a new record this fall!
