A Hollywood Blanks song starts with a core idea, a melody and lyric that can stand alone and would make sense played and sung by one member. The band takes that idea and tells a story. The songs starts in one place and leaves you in a very different one, with furious dynamic shifts, bold harmonies, and sweeping textural changes along the way. It is operatic rock and roll that never quite lost it roots, yet all the while, displays a willingness to tinker with and push the antes of genre and feel. Honed in by years of live performances, Hollywood Blanks shows are highly theatrical, with each band member playing the part not just on their instruments, but also with a unique personality from song to song.
Hollywood Blanks joins us in the studio for a Microshow (October 14, 2015).
The guys completely brought it last month when they came in for their microshow. There was no hesitation. They did it. And did it loudly. Enjoy their killer show!
