Great Klons Limited Minutes

Members of the late 00s/early 10s Baltimore baroque Indie-pop band Eureka Birds re-unite to contribute to the third record by Baltimore’s Scott Klon. Limited Minutes is a departure from previous Great Klons records, leaving behind the busy noise-pop of 2015’s No Photographs and the 2017 Spaghetti Western-Noir soundtrack to David Jaffe’s film “Live a Little” for an approach that balances tight psych-rock with atmospheric jams. Klon’s spare guitar and Courtney Hastings’ swirling violin anchor the five tracks, whether it’s the minimal, Spiritualized-esque closing tack “Carve a Little Space”, the english-folk leaning “Act None,” or the opening psych-rock stormer “Unknown Ships.”

Written in 2019, lyrics about empty baggage claims, closed food courts, and stranded house boats will nonetheless resonate very well with these current times.
