Birds With Teeth is the moniker for Jordan Parrish. He grew up in the hills of Appalachia and the prairies of the Great Plains and is currently based out of an old brick row house in Baltimore. An early love for the written word contributes to his imaginative and unique lyrics set over cinematic instrumentation.
He released his first self-titled record on December 15, 2016. Telling stories based on real life people and situations, the record contains four songs exploring the clashes between idealism and reality. Compared to artists like Death Cab for Cutie, The Lumineers, and Sleeping at Last, the ethereal atmosphere of his layered instrumentation is anchored by his raw, live vocals and harmonies.
Jordan’s music is honest and real. His songwriting is a reality we’ve all been to. It’s a yearning for wanting something more. These songs fit great for a Sunday afternoon while it’s overcast and drizzling outside while the radiators are cracking in the background. Enjoy this record as much as we enjoyed making it with Jordan.
