In the Studio

J.E.L. – Red Clay

J.E.L. recently came back to Mobtown to record a live in- the-studio EP. Killer jazz, no filler. Jay Seay on trumpet, Ezekiel Roebuck, Jr on piano and Larry Stokes on drums. Here are two of my favorite cuts:

Red Clay [Freddie Hubbard]

    hey, matt
This looks great, the 2 trax are at the same level, fantastic! I wanna put take 5 in the archives for now, mostly because of some weak trumpet riffs that drive me nuts. Anyway thanks again, i’ll pop in the studio soon, hopefully! jay

sounds great! I would love to hear live recordings of both, too. When I listen to these tracks, I’m waiting for the applause after all the cool solos!
