Ellen Cherry: Microshow
Our first Mobtown Microshow was a grand success! Ellen and Mike Prout played beautifully. The crowd was great and I was excited to see so many folks turn out on such a gloomy cold and rainy night. It was excellent to see a few familiar people, but it was even cooler to see so many new faces.
On a technical note, we used ribbon mics on the acoustics (around the hole, but a little up the frets), mixed in with Ellen and Mike’s fancy DI’s. The U87 was used on Ellen’s voice. And we used PZMs for room and audience sound.
Thank you to Ellen Cherry and Mike Prout. Big thanks to WTMD and The City Paper for the props. And also to Ed for shouting out unplayable acoustic numbers.
Enjoy.
